Regulatory Disclosure

Location and ELD Data

FleetKonnect services process location, vehicle telematics, and driver activity information where necessary to provide statutory ELD, Hours of Service (HOS), electronic logbook, and fleet tracking functionality.

Background and Foreground Location Collection

To satisfy technical and legal standards for ELD compliance, some data may be collected while the application is in active use or operating in the background (even when the mobile application is not in the foreground or when the screen is locked) if required for ELD or fleet functionality and permitted by the user/device settings.

Specifically, location events are recorded automatically at mandated statutory intervals, including when a vehicle begins moving, when duty status changes occur, during periodic driving checks, and when the engine powers on or shuts down.

Drivers may control location permission dialogs within their mobile operating system. However, disabling or restricting location services will impair or prevent the mobile application from recording certified Hours of Service logs as mandated by federal regulations.

5

Information Sharing

FleetKonnect does not sell personal information to data brokers or advertising networks. Information may be shared only when reasonably necessary with:

  • Your Motor Carrier: For drivers operating under a motor carrier's subscription, log records, vehicle locations, and inspection data are accessible to authorized dispatch and fleet management personnel.
  • Technology and Service Providers: Third-party contractors who perform operational functions on our behalf, subject to confidentiality obligations.
  • Hosting Providers: Secure cloud data centers and hosting infrastructure that store and process encrypted fleet data.
  • ELD Technology Providers: Hardware partners, vehicle engine diagnostic bridge vendors, and specialized telematics processors required to complete ELD functions.
  • Customer Support Providers: Systems and agents that facilitate customer ticketing, live assistance, and communication.
  • Legal or Regulatory Authorities: When legally required by federal or state law, valid subpoenas, court orders, or during formal roadside safety inspections and Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance audits.
6

Data Security

FleetKonnect implements reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal and fleet data from unauthorized access, acquisition, disclosure, alteration, or loss.

These measures include standard cryptographic protocols (TLS/HTTPS) for data in transit, access control mechanisms, restricted network environments, and secure credential hashing.

While we make diligent efforts to maintain high security standards, please be aware that no electronic data transmission or digital storage system can be guaranteed to be absolutely 100% secure.
7

Data Retention

We retain personal information, account records, and ELD log data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, satisfy mandatory statutory retention periods, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain legitimate business records.

Motor carrier regulations (such as 49 CFR Part 395) mandate that motor carriers and ELD service systems maintain certified Records of Duty Status (RODS) and supporting documents for at least six (6) months, or longer for tax, audit, and legal preservation requirements. Data past required retention schedules is securely deleted or de-identified in regular course.

8

User Choices and Rights

Users may contact FleetKonnect to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information in our possession, subject to applicable legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Please note that statutory commercial trucking mandates limit the ability to delete or alter certified ELD records prior to the expiration of the regulatory retention period. Furthermore, if you are a commercial driver operating under an employer carrier account, certain requests may require authorization from your motor carrier administrator.

To submit a request regarding your data, please contact our support team at support@eldfleetkonnect.com.
